Graduation

I am so behind in documenting my life on this blog but here is my late graduation post. I graduated on 05/07/13 and luckily for us, it was just before the big heatwave that hit the UK so the weather was warm but not unbearable!!

Check me out with my fancy red tube.

I can't even begin to describe how nervous I was. I knew that my family who couldn't make it were watching it online and I knew that if I fell when walking up to get my degree then I would never live it down!! This was on my mind for the whole day since I didn't graduate until 3pm!! So stressed haha! Luckily everything went smoothly and I was able to enjoy myself after it!

We felt like we were in Harry Potter with our robes!!

So I now officially have some initials after my name...B.Ed (hons) whoop whoop!!
After the graduation ceremony, I stuck around for some photos outside McEwan Hall where it was held and then my family went to a pub for a drink and then we went to Cafe Andaluz. It is my favourite tapas bar in Edinburgh! If you live in Scotland, there is one in Edinburgh and two in Glasgow so go check them out!! AMAZING food!!

So now I'm a graduate, just waiting on my new job (start 12th Aug) so I'm just trying to mentally prepare myself at actually becoming an adult and having responsibilities. Luckily a lot of my friends have full time jobs now so I won't feel alone!

Me and my Sebby

It's a real shame that my uni friends and I live in all different areas but I'm sure we will all meet up soon and have a big catch up about our teaching lives!!

GRADUATION BALL

A week ago I had my Graduation Ball and it was AMAZING.

My friends were on the committee so I got lots of insider gossip but I was still impressed when I got there!

I wore a burgundy dress from Coast which I got last year in the sale! I think it was about £120 but the quality is amazing and I feel great and comfortable wearing it.

Our Grad Ball was set in the Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh. It is such an iconic building and I was so excited to actually go into it!!

When we entered, we were given a glass of champagne and then we were taken to a large room to converse with the other guests. At the back of the room was a Candy Bar which was such a cute idea!

We were then taken to the grand ballroom where each table was named after a different children's book (well we are going to be teachers :)) My table was named after Maisie comes to Morningside which made me so excited because the bus I used to get in Edinburgh was called that because it went to Morningside haha!

The ballroom looked extremely fancy. A big well done to everyone who helped set it up! When I arrived at my table I found that we had been give favours!

Sorry for the bad quality but we all received personalised stampers for our classrooms haha! Such a cute idea! My friend Lynn also got everyone at my table (my close uni friends) little gifts as well.

How lovely is that?! Overall though, the food was mediocre. I know it was mass produced for the ball but I was expecting a higher quality! After dinner, we had a ceilidh. The only dance I did was Strip the Willow which probably fulfilled my weekly exercise needs! A DJ came afterwards and took us all back to our teenage years!

I had a fantastic night and I really didn't want the night to end but it sadly did :( Waaah!! I hate the fact that time flies when you're having fun hah!

Wonder when my next ball will be?

PHOTO DIARY #10

Family times // LOOK AT SEB! // Gave blood didn't I? // Glasgow Transport Museum // Work buddies // Me and my Mumma! // ROBBIE WILLIAMS // So I lost a stone // acrylics for Graduation

This blog has basically become a photo diary blog haha! I'm not really into beauty much (although I do read a lot of beauty blogs). I'll try and incorporate more things into it but I guess it's just really my own online diary but without really personal details haha!

1. For the first time in 4 and a half years of working, I was actually off on a SUNNY Saturday!!! This never happens EVER!! So I decided to spend the day with my family at my Nana's house. She had put on a wee spread for us- so cute!! I had such a nice day.

2. My boyfriend is part of Edinburgh University Officer Training Corps (don't ask because I don't know haha) but he was given the opportunity to fire the Edinburgh Castle gun. So my family and I went to watch. Look at his outfit! Bless him!

3. Me and Nikki decided to do something productive and so we went to donate blood. Please do it people, it really isn't a big deal at all. I was petrified beforehand but I couldn't believe how pain free and easy the procedure was. First of all you have to fill in loads of forms (don't let that put you off!) and then they take you into a room and prick your finger to make sure your iron levels are normal. Now this is the sorest bit of the whole thing!! Then thats you, they take you to a room filled with beds and insert the needle (doesn't hurt) et voila! I'll be honest, my arm was sore afterwards and I was pretty tired but I may have just saved a life so it's worth it!

4. The Riverside Museum in Glasgow, or The Transport Museum is great! First of all, it's completely free!! So can't complain right! I actually really enjoyed myself. They have copious amounts of cars, bikes, trucks, trams, trains and buses (well duh, it's a transport museum) but it was all very interesting to look at. My favourite piece was the old street in Glasgow. I won't spoil it but it was REALLY cool.

5. Robbie Williams was amazing!! It was my first stadium tour and boy it was an experience!! He was so good!! As was Olly Murs. However, it took FOREVER to get home so that was rubbish!

6. I have a tumblr  which details my weight loss (well I try to write about it- I'm not very good at it). But yeah, I've been clean eating and exercising everyday and I've lost a stone!! Whoop whoop!

So yeah, my next two blog posts are going to be about my Graduation and my grad ball (still photo diaries but hey ho!)
